Limo Ride to Community Service
Super model Naomi Campbell has begun her latest stint of community service in London, albeit in a much quieter ‘fashion’ than last time. Campbell, who was charged with assault following an incident at Heathrow's Terminal Five in April - arrived at the Whitechapel Mission Centre in a limousine yesterday morning, ready to roll up her designer sleeves and tackle the 200 hours she was ordered to serve in May.
However, she will be sticking to doing paperwork and not getting her hands dirty with the cleaning, as was the case for her at a New York sanitation depot (where she captivated the press with a series of killer designer outfits, despite the manual nature of her tasks), last year.
Sources at the centre said that Campbell had not trouble coping with the usually gruelling work. Her co-workers are apparently already warming to her; she was friendly enough and said hello and she didn't look too chuffed.
"I had a great time today," Campbell told waiting reporters as she left - to attend the far more glamorous Serpentine Party. "Everyone was so lovely and welcoming. I've invited them to my show and they've promised to come. I just want to keep my head down and get on with it."
